Time is a loop, Time is not linear

Mind is the focal point of time, space and causality. Suppose some body killed a human life 5 years back secretly, yet that will be the predominant thought haunting his / her mind rather than the act short time back. Distant important past event flies over. Same with future. Thanks.

(1) Hypnotic regression & progression offer an opportunity to view past existence and have a glimpse of the future.
(2) Feeling of time depends upon mental state. We hardly feel passing of time in deep sleep.
(3) Time is different on different planets.
(4) Time depends on the velocity of the person. Time stands still when velocity equals light velocity. If you can manage to travel at a velocity higher than the light-velocity, then a mysterious world opens to you.
(5) Time in the astral & other dimensions is different from the time on the physical planes. One year in some dimension may be equal to 100 years on the earth.

Time is a loop, Time is not linear
Original post: Lord Ruthven
I've always disagreed with the "time is not linear" theory. Imo time is linear. Sure, you can see forward if you're trained well or have a natural talent. You might be able to go backward if technology develops enough. The fact is, though, that forwards and backwards are the only ways you can travel/see through it, hence it is linear. Whatever Hawkwind* might say, you cannot travel sideways through time and although everything happens in cycles we will not see exactly the same thing happen again.
*Hawkiwnd are an '80's British band whose main hit was a song called 'Silver Machine', the lyrics of which said it could move sideways in time. I only leave this note because some people on these forums (poor fools) are not British heavy metal fans.

Time is a loop, Time is not linear
Original post: Dante II
Time is non existent.
All things have/are/will happening simultaneously. the human mind is fragile, and cannot deal with this, by nature we are linear travelling creatures.
Hypnotism in an uncontrolled environment can lead to either fortelling or posttelling.
Feeling of time is relative. Two people in a room can experience very different passsage of time, depending on their state of mind. If time is different in the same room, then time will also be different on different planets.
At certain speeds our state of being changes, and so does our state of time. (we have invented time initially to measure movement of objects. At different speeds objects change shape and weight, so their measurements will also change ofcourse.
Time does not actually exist in astral planes, atleast not in a manner we can percieve. The beings who reside their are not beyond the need for some manner of movement control, and so exist in a time reference on their own. one which we cannot even compare to ours. Completely different rules. (i.e. try to think of a colour which is not made of colours previously seen.)

Time, being part of the fourth dimension (space-time continuum) is irrelevent. It exists much like as if you were inside of a ball and the spherical wall was a mirror. What do you think you would see?
The Astra Plane (Light) is Ether and in this plastic immensity holds all the thoughts, memories and Karmic knowledge of the Universe and everything that is, will be and ever was.

From what I understand of string theory, time is neither linear nor a loop. It doesn't have a shape at all, in fact. It's largely an illusory effect of four-dimensional phenomenon interacting with beings who have limited three-dimensional senses.

i agree with Rin on this one i think, i dont think time really objectively exists, i think its a trick played by conciousness.

breaking free of the "known loop" is my lifework... lol... beyond loops AND linear
science to back it up (plenty) or not, there are ways "out" methinks, some good, some not so good, and some brilliant... thats why i seek the company of those like-minded past, present, future or otherwise. i would hate to get "there" alone... so to say.
*hint hint

I'm in agreement with several of you here. Time does not exist!
The notion of time is merely human perception of movement (i.e. a day is the movement of the earth about its axis, a year is the movement of the earth around the sun). It is completely relative and limited to the realm of the human experience...it is by no means a universal constant.
There is a clear cyclic aspect to the human perception of time since the principle determinative is the circular (or rather elliptical) movements of our planet in our solar system. There also exists a linear perspective based on the human experience of life, i.e. the forward trajectory of birth, maturity, aging, senescence, and death. It is all arbitrary and depends on the point of view taken. The longer you live, the faster time flies.
In my book, there is only Present. Past is memory and Future is anticipation!

There is no time in spirit. When we address the spirit in meditation, we may return to a more conscious state out of sink with how much time has passed. The body knows one time, while the spirit knows another.

This is where physics eats itself, or at least disagrees with itself. String theory may suggest that time is an illusion, but quantum mechanics suggests that time occurs in measurable packets. If it is truly measurable then it is probably not an illusion.
A definite scientific conclusion on time - its nature and whether or not it really exists as we think it does - may well be a generation away.

I believe time is truly irrelevent, but it is measurable and part of the Cosmic make up.
Just like everyone's reality is their reality I also see time as each person's time and measured by them and them alone . . . does that make any sense? Damn, this is exotic giblet!!

I'd say that makes perfect sense : like the blind man describing the elephant. The elephant is real and measurable but the blind man can only grasp a part of what it is.

while i agree were getting closer to science finally "figuring things out", i dont agree this is where physics eats itself. there is not contradiction, more of replacement if you ask me. string-based m-theory does well to reconcile the MAJOR unfixable conflict between general relativity and quantum mechanics. this issue bothered einstein to the grave! why should we accept it, if he didnt??
quantum mechanics fails at something as minor as "gravity" where m-theory "does" it quite nicely. imho the differences merely show why quantum mech is utterly inadequate to describe the universe.

One of the current models of string theory suggests time is one out of ten dimensions...
http://www.tenthdimension.com/medialinks.php
It is about 10 minutes or so and it explains 10 dimensions pretty plainly. I would really suggest paying close attention because if you don't focus on it, it might escape you. Have fun.
AND as an added bonus, can anyone spot the obvious yet incidental reference to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life?
This being said, time should be analogous to the other dimensions, which we will soon know with the construction of the Large Hadron Collider.

During hypnotic regression, you get only relevant & important existences. For example, you may get your existence in fifteenth century, then ninth century and finally six thousands years back.

Time is a loop, Time is not linear
Original post: Demetrios
Time (ie. duration/aion) is what's inside a quantum leap, its span. Quanta of the Planck scale are the smallest possible duration (/length/energy). Below that, these concepts have no meaning whatsoever. At this scale it is not meaningfull to speak about the direction of time - we'll get to that later - there's just the form.
Now, what is important to realize, quantum leaps come in different sizes, up to a quantum leap the size of the life time of the universe (and possibly beyond), according to hierarchic scales of Planck's constant. We can call this hierarchy of quantum leaps inside quantum leaps inside quantum leaps the "geometrical time" or even better, vertical time, which can be imagined as a spiral of various forms. The quantum leap the size of the lifespan of a universe is also known by the names YHWH, Creator, Yaldabaoth, Saklas, Demiurge, Architect, Mahadeva etc. Thank God, He's Mortal!
Now, in the geometrical time the QL's inside a hierarchy level (for example the QL of the life span of a human being) form the horizontal or linear level of geometric time. As these QL's of the linear lever (e.g. thought-size QL's) are (number theoretically and entropically) bound together in a succession, a unidirectional arrow of time is formed, ie. the psychological experience of time, the experience of causality.
That's it, folks, the "mystery" of time. Linearily organized loops inside loops.
It's not either or. Put as simple as I can (and I am a simple character):Lord Ruthven;245404 wrote:I've always disagreed with the "time is not linear" theory. Imo time is linear. Atomistic ("atom"=Planck length) and reductionistic string theories trying to describe a holistic hologram-like universe suck badly, you can forget about them.
