Donald Michael Kraig

Post by dramaqueen »

Hello everyone!
I've spent dozens of hours searching for a real forum on the topic of occultism and magic.
I'm a beginner. I started learning about magic from Donald Michael Kraig's book "Modern Magic." I'm interested in gray magic and the practitioners who have chosen Kraig's school. I'd love to connect with you.

Hello and welcome.

If I'm honest, I've not heard of Donald Michael Kraig before, but it's been a long while since I done some proper reading. I really should get back to exploring books more.

I read Kraig a long while back. Pretty good book, I took what was useful and kept on moving. Gray magick? It's been a long time, could you remind me what Kraig means by this phrase?

"Donald Micheal Kraig was born on March 28, 1951 and succumbed to pancreatic cancer on March 17, 2014."

Not a very long life. Pity he could not deal with the cause of his cancer.

Perhaps there are safer models

There is an implication in your post.....that if you have "safer" methods......the path will be all sunshine and daisies.....that karmic energies will just dissipate on there own.......all the trials, pain and tribulations of the path will just melt away like water in the desert.

Hate to break it to you.....the path means more suffering......not less. More challenges......not less. Anyone whom tells you different, is not very experienced. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

hi! I also like the book, I started reading it 8 months ago, but I took it seriously and thoughtfully, so I was reading it slowly. However, due to life circumstances, I had to stop studying magic, and now I'm starting from the beginning.

In the book "Modern Magic," Crag offers the following classification:
1. White magic, which is known as yoga in Eastern cultures. In other words, white magic is the yoga of the West.
2. black magic. its purpose is to cause harm on both physical and non-physical levels, both to oneself and to others
3. gray magic. it is a mixture of white and black. gray magic can become both white and black (or remain gray), depending on how it is viewed.
gray magic is the science and art of consciously or unconsciously attracting what you desire, both on a physical and non-physical level, using means that are not yet understood by traditional Western science, in order to bring blessings to yourself and others.

I've heard many times that cancer cannot be cured with magic. What do you think about this?

To be honest, I believe that magic has no limits.

Physical dis-eases have deeper causes.

They usually include relationship problems - sometimes from past lives.

There can be group and cosmic karma that often attract direct interference in the human energy body by remote entities/systems.

Diet and place of sleep are also important: for example industrial food and the Hartmann Grid

Modern humans do not seem concerned about electromagnetic radiation - some of which is directionally managed e.g. directed energy weapons

Cancer is usually not curable on the physical level. I read a statistical report that stated that chemotherapy on average results in an extended life expectancy of several minutes.

Magic is an adjective. It refers to the intentional actions of a mage. I have met few mages in this incarnation.

Ok, this may sound silly.....but I haven't used such general classifications for a long time. Nowadays, if i'm using any sort of classification, it's based on the current of energy I'm working (Saturn, Draconic, Shadow, Celestial, Angelic.....etc). Here's a list of books that may have some useful bits for your studies, Jason MIller also has a good course (Strategic Sorcery) that may be of interest.

Real Sorcery by Jason Miller
Consorting with Spirits by Jason Miller
Mysteries of the Life Force by Peter Meech
Mermaids Slyphs Gnomes and Salamanders by William Mistele
Power Spellcraft by Arin-Murphy Hiscock
Practical Psychic Self-Defense for Home and Office By Choa Kok Sui
Magical Knowledge by Josephine McCarty
Tranceportation by Diana Paxson
Singing the Soul Back Home by Caitlin Mathews
Chaos Protocols by Gordon White
A Star from Heaven by Jonathan Sousa
Spirit Speak by Ivo Dominguez
Way of the Mystic Wizard by Mathew Thomas Baker

If I really think about it, I don't really have one. I used to have one, I almost fall in love with it, just to eventually find it to be "tainted", before I even finished reading it. Now we don't even speak of it. And that experienced left me with a long lasting sense of paranoia, in regard to occult literature.
Books in occult can be a bit "spicy", might come pre-packaged with unwanted "gifts", so we need to be careful with them.

While I read quite widely in Western occultism and practiced an Eastern meditation, the real progress occurred by intervention in my meditation.

Long ago, one week, each morning while meditating I was introduced to a new technique. The first was the most important, often called Rising on the Planes.

The detailed control of consciousness (planes, sub-planes, sub-sub-planes) allows learning by experiment - with suitable friends able to observe processes in real time.

These days for me every belief is either an hypothesis awaiting experimental testing - or part of a religious-like belief system. Much of materialistic science seems to fall in the "religious" area.

And burn the books you don't take particular value from. Between one to the other, the movement only intensifies. It's always exciting when you can embark on a new enlightenment quest.

I will also look into this individual, Donald Michael Kraig, and his affiliation with Fate Magazine.

Why would anyone do such thing?
No, such acts are very haram in my religion.

A while ago I put in the rubbish some books that I did not want any friends to read. I felt adverse energies in the books thought it better that no one read them - to avoid personal karma

Was that wrong?

Whether it was wrong would depend on whether said books were your possessions or your friends' possessions. I cannot condone the destruction of another's literary possessions whether you are adverse to their ideas or adverse to their energies.

As for purging one's own library, I completely support you. The older I get the more I understand that most books on the occult, especially western traditions, are regurgitated drivel descended from a xenophobic fascination with a Bronze Age Semitic diaspora and their exotic superstitions.
So many gifted books have found their way to my fireplace.

It may be better to consider occult books as energy fields with the hard copy being the external form.

Reading the book may invite the energy intelligence to alter the energy body of the human.

A book may have additional intelligences with agendas quite different from the title of the book.

I test all objects that come into my home. Often they need transmutation by the house spirit, the genius loci

In my understanding Kraig uses the term Gray Magick to mean "Thaumaturgy" or sorcery for everyday life goals, as opposed to "Theurgy" or Spiritual development. Neither purely White or Black.

Are magic practitioners exempt from karma?

Once I tried not believing in gravity. It did not make any difference.

Perhaps karma is easier

Like that one time, after reading part of one book (which I thought was great and filled me with lots positive vibes) I went on to do may daily meditations, and the visions I saw in there were so bad, that I had to cut it short and go instead do some urgent cleansing and banishing rituals for an hour, just so I could close my eyes in peace again. I never again picked up that book.

I can't say if it's wrong or right in general. I would never throw or burn books, unless there are some extreme circumstances, or a very good excuse for it, but that's mostly just personal gnosis, in which every book is seen more as a "person", and less as just a "thing".

Prior to the Theosophical Society's intrusion into the WMT, no one thought much about "karma"? (In my understanding). Of course there always has been "cause and effect", and all that implies. After much deliberation (meditation) I now view karma as the same sort of control system (for the sheep) as the Abrahamic heaven and hell. "Organized" religions are full of that kind of blatant and bogus B$, IMO. Sorry if this is the wrong forum/thread for that!
