So you're practically learning this stuff, then as a self-given test, you make a video where you explain it?
Pretty much, yeah. Like a diary of philosophy. When I feel confident enough about a particular subject, I will make a series about it in a very extensive format, like a documentary of sorts.

I started on the book as I needed to know where I personally was coming from, I find that we have to make a philosophy our own, memorizing points is not enough - in order to understand, I put it forward in a dialogue format.

I have created many concepts as a result of writing the book - the most important of which is "Urgency delays Agency" and "Marking of the Objective" - they are my own personal conclusions from the book, the concepts that I will create other volumes from.

My new channel!

Post by Nemiel »

Here is a link to my new channel "The Genealogy of Ideas"

https://www.youtube.com/user/genealogyphilosophy

Welcome to the channel "The Genealogy of Ideas" - the channel that will take you on a journey through philosophy.

Each video will be in screen-cast format with commentary, which will enable viewers to follow the information easily by presenting the sources on the screen.
The channels' agenda is to use Bertrand Russells' "History of Western Philosophy" * as the foundation, it is advised to all those who wish to participate in this channel (subscribers and visitors alike) to obtain a copy of this book to maximize the learning experience.

This is a channel for graduates and non graduates alike, I personally am a non graduate in philosophy, this is a huge interest of mine and I will be teaching and learning at the same time, each presentation will be a "study session" of sorts and experimental.

"The Genealogy of Ideas" aims to understand philosophy and the origins of ideas, how they are relative to the times of then and now, how ideas from philosophy such as rhetoric and ethics are implemented into politics and social philosophy, all with the intention of expanding our knowledge to achieve a higher awareness and affirmation of ourselves.

I hope you will enjoy the videos as they are produced and understand the spirit in which they are made - to understand the basics in philosophy and to see the relevance of philosophy in all walks of life.

Philosophy is not just ideas on paper, it is an account of our human experience.

* = Bertrand Russell will only be used for the foundation through Greek philosophy up to the start of Continental Philosophy such as Hegel. Logical Positivists such as Russell did not have a clear understanding of continental philosophy due to the ambiguity of the subjects it discussed.
