Well, it is an animal study. An interesting outcome but final conclusions can only be drawn from a study with human individuals. I alsowant to point out that the shock was induced through a footshock, not a traumata resulting from a battlefield. Since my field of deeper knowledge is biology and not directly psychology I am not sure how this influences the final shock stage, but I know that there is a difference between the psychology of a rat and that of a human.Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop following exposure to a traumatic event. Hence, what we do in the first few hours after trauma exposure may alter the trajectory of PTSD. We examined whether cannabinoids can prevent the effects of a single footshock followed by situational reminders (SRs) on emotional processing. Rats were exposed to a footshock (1.5 mA, 10 s) on day 1 followed by exposure to SRs of the shock on days 3 and 5.

I am curious how research in this field will proceed. I am certain that cannabis has strong potential for new drugs (if it isn't already used?), lets keep an eye on it.

Yep,I didn't like the use of rats in this either. [thumbup]
And it's not necessary to do so,given that we have so much verifiable testimony from veterans with PTSD already, from multiple wars and conflict around the globe and not just from Vietnam vets, but in saying that, Vietnam vets have the longest recorded/verifiable modern use,so their testimony is especially useful.
Not all evidence needs to be laboratory controlled,as we don't live our lives in lab conditions, after all, lol, but seriously and why use synthesised cannabinoids?
This is a fault ridden study, but I wanted to include it anyway.
